Birthday look, cake & thoughts. 21 years old now...

So, today's my birthday.

[Well, when I started working on this entry, it was still Saturday, so there :-P. I wasn't lying when I typed that ;D.]

I am now 21, and to be honest I do feel old. One of my brothers is twelve as of the 19th, and I remember myself being twelve. It's really damn scary.

It's not the 'growing old' aspect of it that scares me. It's the change and how time passes, not in relation to me but sort of historically if that even makes sense, how things that I live through will be the next generation's past...

When I get gloomy, I force myself to stop thinking ('brooding' would probably fit better here), so here are my look, cake etc. & am being positive :D.

[I do feel wonderful for making it this far though. Thank you God.]

Face: The usual. Tigi concealer, Tesco foundation, Bourjois mineral powder & contouring powder from that fake YSL kit. And a whole lot of brushes. A foundation brush truly's brilliant to work with.

Eyes: First, a soft wash of NYX Apricot Moose. Over that I applied Sleek Eye Dust in Inferno. I lined my eyes with Too Faced's Ruby Slippers metallic pencil (lovely :D) and used the lighter end of Oriflame's Aladdin & Jasmine duo liner on my waterline. Curled lashes & threw on mascara [Avon SuperSHOCK] too, naturally.

Cheeks: Revlon Leading Lady Blush in Smoky Rose, applied lightly & diffused over the apples. An unusual way of wearing blush for me, but I thought it'd work here.

Lips: Stila It Gloss in Fetching. It is ;).

Here's a smiling pic, because after all this is a birthday post...

And I wish the one below hadn't turned out this blue...But my phone tends to do that.

I'll post the eye close-ups just to illustrate how out of practice I am where those are concerned. Must keep trying then :-P. It's the only way to improve.

Cake:

The tradition of using paper numbers continues ;D. And here it is without them...

Oh, and of course I bought it. I cant't bake (and that's probably fairly apparent, lol XD). Thanks for reading :). Am passing out after I'm done with this - must get some sleep.

P.S. In retrospect, I like my smile from last time :). Maybe I'll like today's photos next year.

Comeback look: green.

Maybe because green is the colour of hope[fully I won't mess up this revival]. But to be honest I just felt like working with said colour ;).
Or maybe spring has something to do with it. Anyway, pics:

[Disclaimer: Out of practice. That applies to everything, actually. Not just photographing.]

Yes, I was half awake at the time. Or half asleep. Depends on your perception.

Products:

This was my first time using a foundation brush. (OK, so it was marketed as a brush for applying face masks, but it looks just like a foundation brush & works perfectly.)

Skin: Good old (half empty by now) Tesco Porcelain, applied with a foundation brush (Oriflame). Powdered with Bourjois Mineral Radiance in Vanille, contoured with powder from a fake YSL kit. I know, I shouldn't have etc. but I got it for the lovely Asian made eye shadows, not for a fake logo. By the way, it doesn't even copy any real product, it just has the logo slapped on :-/. But the eye shadows are gorgeous & I'll be doing a look with them ;).

I have a new contouring brush too, Oriflame's Sun Brush. Which, for the record, is not slanted as pictured in the catalogue. It's a kabuki. But a good one & one can never have too many brushes :D.

Eyes: Pretty simple. Wet & Wild Envy as a base, NYX Spring Leaf on the lid & a bit of NYX Green Tea on the crease. Lined with my Avon Arabian Glow pencil in Emerald. Inner lining: Avon Glimmerstick in Black Stripe for upper lashlines & a random cheap white kohl for lower lashlines (fine, the brand is Lady Di). Curled lashes & used Avon's SuperSHOCK mascara.

Mine's Limited Edition. I actually got the whole stripey line (and yes, the packaging was part of the reason :-P) and will be posting pics as soon as I can get an accurate pic of the eye shadow shades.

Cheeks: The Body Shop Shimmer Waves in Blush. Stupidly not pictured, but if necessary you can look it up under 'The Body Shop' or just see a few of my past looks, I'd been using it fairly frequently.

Lips: Estee Lauder Pure Colour Long Lasting Lipstick in Sugar Honey, from a swap with Hanna :).

[Will be posting up some undeclared past swaps (mostly for reference, I suppose).]

More pictures...

I still look ugly when I smile. Some things will never change ;).

And finally, the wonky angles I sometimes seek in order to get an OK picture...

See the shadow? That's my arm >:-).

Finally, not really make-up related, but this is stuck in my head :-P...

It has infected my brain. Lol.

And this concludes the entry. Thanks for reading :).

If you clicked on this, thanks. 'Cause I plan to resume blogging.

[Hopefully I still have readers :-P.]

My last post was written six months ago... But I finally have an internet connection, a laptop, and the will to blog again ;). It may take me a while to get the hang of it all (again), but I do have some ideas to work upon.

So do expect new posts on here, and thanks again for not forgetting me :).

Enter Diamond Enigma 2010.
